To make it easier for you and our staff, please follow these suggestions when making calls and appointments with Accredited Asthma, Allergy & Food Intolerance Center.
- For routine calls, please call during our daily office hours. We are in the office Monday and Wednesday 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM and Tuesday and Thursday 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM. The office is closed on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Your medical questions/concerns can be usually answered by our triage nurse. If your question needs to be discussed with Dr. Smith, our nurse will take your message to Dr. Smith and she will advise you when she will return your call
- When needing a refill on the medications we have prescribed, please call your pharmacy first. The pharmacy will fax us the proper forms to complete for accuracy and continuance of care. Medications will not be refilled if it has been over one year since your last appointment with Dr. Smith. If you are changing pharmacies or need new prescriptions, please supply us with the phone number of the pharmacy. If your insurance requires you to have written prescriptions for a 90-day supply, please call us a few days in advance to avoid any interruption with your medications
- Sick patients: In most cases, it is difficult to treat patients by phone. Some symptoms require an examination. If you have an elevated temperature or infection, please call your primary care physician; we do not see infectious patients. If you feel your problem requires immediate attention, do not hesitate to go to the nearest emergency room or call 911, always
- Calls after regular business hours and on weekends: If you are experiencing an emergency situation, please contact 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. Routine care messages will be returned on our next business day. Messages may be left on the triage line - follow the prompts on the office recording. Please do not expect treatment or a new prescription for a “new” problem by telephone
- Office hours for allergy injections are Monday and Wednesday 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM and Tuesday and Thursday 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM. Please sign in at the injection window and be prepared to pay your co-pay for the injection. We request that you always wait 30 minutes after your injection. Remember to keep track of your time after you have received your shot
- Appointments: We see patients by appointment only and schedule only a very few (8 – 14) patients per day. Your care is of our utmost importance. For this reason, we would appreciate at least a 48-hour notice of cancellation or you will be charged $100 for a late cancellation fee. If you do not call or show up for your scheduled appointment, you will be charged a $100 no-show fee
